Dr Masha Maharaj did her Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCH) through the University of Witwatersrand. She obtained specialist qualifications in Fellowship of Nuclear Physicians (FCNP) through The Colleges of Medicine of South Africa, her Master’s in medicine (MMED) through the University of Stellenbosch and her Fellowship of the European Board of Nuclear Medicine (FEBNM) through The European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). Dr Maharaj currently heads imaging and Therapy Centres in the KwaZulu Natal province And offers Nuclear Medicine therapies in Thyroid, Neuroendocrine tumours, Prostate cancer, bone metastases and radio synovectomy. Dr Maharaj is a Chapter Head in Volunteer Medical Corps, who assist in Medical and Humanitarian aid globally. She is a member of the General executive body in the World association of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Therapy (WARMTH). Dr Maharaj is an active member of the South African Oncology Consortium (SAOC).

She is a consultant on the peer review panel for the consortium. Dr Maharaj is an active member of the South African Society of Nuclear Medicine and the Nuclear Physicians Association of South Africa. She is published in Several international journals and contributed her work in a chapter in a Cancer textbook. She has presented her work internationally. Her interests are Oncology and Infection Imaging as well as Theragnostic.
